Student Leadership

Students at Hardisty K-9 School provide leadership and mentorship in many formats ranging from cross-graded/cross-curricular groupings, to paired reading, to hosting special events at the school and division level, to running dances for junior high students.

Hardisty also has a Learning To Lead semestered option class in grade nine. This program emphasizes student involvement in planning, managing and assessing school-wide projects. Students will be encouraged to develop citizenship, organizational and social skills. They will be expected to spend time planning a number of school activities during the school year and will have the opportunity to shape school spirit and reach out to the community. Students will have an opportunity to learn from leaders of the past as well as leaders connected to our school.  This option is fueled by student ideas and initiative.
